Privacy Policy

Plainward Software ("Plainward", "we", "us") develops software products distributed through the Atlassian Marketplace and other channels. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with our products and website.

Our website (plainward.com) does not collect personal data. We do not use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts. Contact form submissions are processed solely to respond to your inquiry.

Our Atlassian Data Center products (such as Markdown Extra for Bitbucket) run entirely within your Atlassian instance on your infrastructure. We do not have access to your instance, your data, or your users' data.

Specifically, our DC products:

• Do not transmit data to Plainward or any third party
• Do not collect usage analytics or telemetry
• Do not store data outside your Atlassian instance
• Process all content locally within the browser or server

Licensing information is managed by Atlassian through their standard licensing infrastructure. We receive anonymized license status from the Atlassian UPM API, but no personal data.

Our Atlassian Cloud (Forge) products run on Atlassian's infrastructure and are subject to Atlassian's Privacy Policy. Forge apps are sandboxed and operate within Atlassian's security and data residency framework.

Our Forge apps request only the minimum scopes necessary for their functionality. We do not store, export, or process your data outside of Atlassian's platform.

Some product features may optionally connect to external services (e.g., PlantUML rendering servers). These connections are:

• Documented in the product's user guide
• Configurable by the administrator
• Disabled by default where possible

No personal data is sent to these services. Only diagram source code or similar technical content is transmitted for rendering purposes.

Since we do not collect or store personal data, there is typically no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you believe we hold any of your personal information, contact us and we will investigate and respond promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
